As a school we currently run one residential visit per year. The visit is usually for year 7 pupils and takes place over three days.
We currently visit the Kingswood centre near Albrighton in Staffordshire on the outskirts of Wolverhampton.
Over 3 days the students take part in a range of adventurous activities including things like Climbing, Abseiling, Quad Biking, Archery and Problem Solving.
The visit also generates many opportunities for social development as students eat together and share dormitories. They are also expected to function as part of a team for the duration of the visit.
Each year one or two students we feel have done particularly well are invited to accompany us the following year to assist with the younger students.
There are also opportunities for students in the sixth form to participate in residential visits with one trip having already taken place to Woodlands Adventure in Aldridge and another planned for the near future.
To date all our residential visits have been a great success and thoroughly enjoyed by all who have taken part.
In April 2017 15 Students form Year 7 attended a 3 day residential to the Kingswood Centre near Wolverhampton in Staffordshire. During the visit the students took part in a range of outdoor activities. These included Crate Stack, Climbing, Abseiling, Zip Wire, Aeroball, Team Challenge, Caving, Low Ropes and Problem solving.
As well as taking part in the excellent activities the students also enjoyed eating together in the canteen and their evening entertainment which included Mini Olympics and a movie night.
The students were also encouraged to make their own beds and keep their dormitories tidy.
