Weather and Climate

Student’s will look at how climate change has affected the weather.  Students will look at how the weather forecast is predicted and created.  Students will also discuss how the changes are concerning scientists regarding future climate changes.

Changing Populations

Student’s will look at highly urbanised environments such as areas of India and china.  How sudden growth has changed the environment for plant and animals and the long-term effects of the world from over population of these areas.

Renewable Energy

Students will examine why we need renewable sources of energy and look at the different types of renewable energy being used such as solar and wind.

Students will learn how know how the transport of food affects the environment, and how ethical retailing and consumer choices can help to reduce the impact of transport on the environment.

Fragile Environments

Students will learn to recognise the natural environment, to know that it is fragile, can be endangered and needs to be protected through actions of people, global organisations and governments

Earthquakes and Tsunamis

Students will learn to identify areas of the world that are affected by tectonic events (earthquakes, volcanoes and tsunamis) and know how people are affected by, and respond to the hazards posed by the tectonic events.
